An inter-religious Christmas Milan (Gathering) was organized by Jose Kalapura, director of XISR and coordinator of the Dialogue Commission on Dec 21, 17 at Navjyoti Niketan Hall, Kurji. Representing other religions, gurus (Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and Sikh), besides Fr. Johnson Kelakath, parish priest of Kurji Parish, gave messages on the theme, aman ka sandesh kristmas (message of peace, Christmas). Due to hartal declared by the RJD political party, many prospective participants could not come. The participants numbering some 80 were treated with video show by Fr. Premlal of Ravibharati, pious carols in Hindi and English, by the choir groups from the College of Nursing, Kurji Hospital, Minor Seminary, Chakaram and by Novice Sisters of St. Joseph’s Convent, Digha, besides snacks and tea. Kudos to our Chakaram Brothers who braved the hartal and managed the decoration and crib in the Hall. The media coverage was very good.
